Common Foot Problems

  • Skin:  corns, callouses, athlete's foot, warts, dermatitis
  • Toenails:  ingrown, fungal, discolored
  • Overuse injury:  tendinitis, heel pain, arch pain, plantar fasciitis, arthritis
  • Acute injury:  ankle sprain, foot sprain, wounds, blisters
  • Deformities:  hammertoes, bunions, bone spurs
  • Flat feet:  children, adult, adult-acquired
  • Arthritis:  degenerative, gout
  • Diabetic foot
  • Neuroma

We ask our feet to carry our bodies around every day and even run and jump on them.  And we put them into shoes that are not always friendly, and they usually do not complain.  They are remarkably well-engineered and sturdy, but sometimes things develop that need attention.  The most common problems are painful corns or callouses, ingrown toenails, and heel pain (at the bottom of the heel).

Foot Pain Is Not Normal

Foot pain is never normal and is a warning sign that something is wrong.  Don't delay evaluation and treatment of a lingering situation.  When something becomes chronic, it can be more difficult to treat and take longer to resolve.  Take care of your feet today.
